Moving a macOS window by clicking anywhere on it.Best Window Preview App for MacOS Dock?. ![]() The one gripe I have with it is that the software does not detect a hierarchy of monitors, which would allow simple configurations to move a mouse cursor across screen edges regardless of their actual relative positions (seriously, how many of you just have side-side monitors? Now raise your hands if you have them going in 2D (some stacked, some across, etc,). I've yet to see it go bonkers on me with proper installation on any OS. Nick Bolton has spent a ton of work and time to develop Synergy with his group. It just can't be, whether it's pre-processing *nix side components to be compiled in Mac or Windows, or the need for multi-OS testbeds, it can be hard to keep it simple. Joking aside, there are few of us who work in just one OS. Now sure, Synergy in my opinion is the one open-source project us in the uber multi-tasked 5 OS 16 screened desktop productivity wackos need to support:). This is an older post, but one that continues to progress. Software wise I'm testing Synergy 1.8, 2.0 beta and ShareMouse v4.0.36. I'm using two machines, a Windows PC with 2 monitors and a MacBook Pro with 2. Synergy A free software option that allows users to use a single keyboard and mouse to. Of course, as always, these products you can try before you buy (synergy is open-source, but donations do help progress). Supported platforms as of 2016 are Windows 10, 8, 7 and Vista. Now I can set down the laptop, connect power and one Thunderbolt cable and have it controllable from the PC. It also holds up perfectly when my laptop is disconnected and reconnected, which is done through a Thunderbolt dock. This is fixed with one rapid tap on the NUM LOCK key, so although it's not perfect, it's something I can live with. All is well in Windows with NUM LOCK, but I'll often find a keypress of '2' will result in the window scrolling down on the Mac. The only problems I have had with this solution is that it keeps forgetting the status of the NUM LOCK key when I move to the Mac and it only recognises the one scroll wheel button on my mouse. However, I have had no keyboard layout issues since starting to use it to control my MacBook Pro laptop from my Windows 10 desktop and the mouse is completely lag-free (as it was with Synergy to be fair ShareMouse was the one that had horrible pointer lag). The included software is a bit old and not terribly pretty and the file transfer feature doesn't work at all with macOS 10.13. So far it has proven to be a much better option than either Synergy or ShareMouse. To follow up for the sake of completeness, I purchased from Startech.
